Maternity Reflexology
Maternity Reflexology
Pregnancy is one of the most profound things a body will ever do — and it deserves proper support.
Maternity reflexology is a specialist adaptation of reflexology, tailored specifically to the needs of the pregnant body. The techniques, pressure, and reflex points worked are carefully selected for each stage of pregnancy, making it a safe, deeply supportive therapy from the first trimester through to birth — and into the postnatal period beyond.
For ten years I worked as a birth worker, sitting with women through pregnancy, labour, and the tender weeks that follow. That experience lives in my hands. When I work with a pregnant woman, I'm not simply applying a protocol — I'm drawing on a decade of understanding how the female body moves through this extraordinary transition.
How Maternity Reflexology Can Help
Pregnancy brings with it a cascade of physical and emotional change. Maternity reflexology works with that process, helping the body to adapt, regulate, and restore balance at each stage.
It is commonly used to support:
-
Nausea and morning sickness in the first trimester
-
Fatigue and low energy
-
Back pain, pelvic girdle pain, and sciatica
-
Swelling and fluid retention
-
Heartburn and digestive discomfort
-
Anxiety, overwhelm, and disrupted sleep
-
Preparing the body and nervous system for labour
-
Postnatal recovery and hormonal rebalancing
-
Supporting milk production and emotional adjustment after birth
First Trimester
The early weeks are a time of enormous internal change, often invisible from the outside. Reflexology in this stage is gentle and supportive — focused on the nervous system, hormonal balance, and easing the discomforts that can make these weeks harder than expected.
Second Trimester
As the body settles into pregnancy, sessions can address the physical demands of a growing baby — postural strain, circulatory shifts, and the emotional landscape of becoming a mother. This is often when women find reflexology most deeply restorative.
Third Trimester
In the final weeks, maternity reflexology can be used to help prepare the body for labour — encouraging optimal positioning, supporting cervical ripening, and helping the nervous system move from a state of tension into one of readiness and calm. This is work I feel particularly close to, rooted in everything I witnessed during my years as a birth worker.
Postnatal
The weeks after birth are rarely given the attention they deserve. Postnatal reflexology supports hormonal rebalancing, emotional recovery, and the profound physical adjustment of a body that has just given everything. You matter in this season too.
What to Expect
You'll be fully supported and comfortable throughout — no lying flat on your back, no awkward positions. I adapt everything to where you are in your pregnancy. Sessions last 60 minutes and begin with a conversation about how you're feeling, what's present for you, and what you'd most like support with.
I offer mobile sessions, coming to your home across South East London, Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich, and Kent — so you don't have to go anywhere. You can simply rest, and let the work happen.
Your body is doing something extraordinary. Let's support it properly.
